Exclusive: Amy Adams Covers Garage Magazine as Andy Warhol

Amy Adams fronts Garage magazines 14th issue, out today, in a recreation of Andy Warhols Self-Portrait in Drag Polaroid series from the early Eighties.Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin shot the portrait series American Superstar for the magazine, in which Adams was also transformed into New York icons Liza Minnelli, Dolly Parton and Debbie Harry.Its the first issue released under editor-in-chief Mark Guiducci and creative director Brian Phillips, who were appointed in September 2017 and October 2017, respectively.Guiducci said, "We were thinking about what he [Warhol], for better or worse, instigated decades agogenre-defying collaborations, the democratization of celebrity, even his partiesand how those things give us a starting point to make sense of what's happening in American culture today. We asked Amy Adams to embody a few Warholian iconsclearly, she was gameand then filled the issue with contributions from some of our most radical contemporaries, from Hedi Slimane to the Norwegian artist Torbjrn Rdland to little known photographer Flo Ngala."In true Warholian fashion, the issue will be marked Friday night with a party: Garage at the Factory, with music by issue contributors Virgil Abloh and Sophie, and Venus X.[caption id="attachment_11140337" align="aligncenter" width="759"] Amy Adams on the cover of Garage magazine.[/caption]
