Big-box stores like Sam's Club and BJ's already fuel your bulk-shopping and pantry-stocking addictionsyou know, so you do not run out of any essentials when you need them most. But Costco is taking this to an entirely new level by offering customers an entire year's worth of food.

That's rightyou can now purchase enough meals to feed a family of four for 365 days straight. Costco is calling this package the Nutristore 1-year Premium Meal Kit, which includes 36,000 servings and sells for a cool $6,000.

This massive collection was created with natural disaster relief in mind, but it no doubt appeals to the doomsday crowd. Either way, the non-perishable survivors' kit includes 600 cans that each contain 10 gallons of supplies, running the gamut from grains and proteins to fruits and vegetables.

Inside you will find white rice, various pasta (elbow macaroni, rotini); instant black beans and lentils; freeze-dried corn, broccoli, green beans, bananas, and raspberries; dehydrated apples, carrots, and potatoes; and both beef and chicken TVP (texturized vegetable protein). There's also instant milk, butter powder, shortening powder, white and brown sugars, chicken bouillon, and plenty of salt.

"The idea came about making a great starter kit for a family who wanted to prepare for any kind of disaster," a Costco spokesperson told the Detroit Free Press. "This is a great value with shipping included."
