Often times when tragedy strikes around the country we see celebrities coming out of the woodwork to raise awareness for those who have no way to truly convey their needs. Chef Jos Andrs is leading the charge with relief efforts in Puerto Rico this week, where he's attempting to feed upwards to 40,000 people a day in need. Warning: You might need a tissue for this one.

Chefs and celebrities (such as Gloria Estefan and Ricky Martin) have flown in to lend a hand. The effort that is being spearheaded and coordinated by Chef Andrs is something that will make even the hardest of hearts swell with team spirit and joy. It's amazing what he's been able to do thus far by using outdoor kitchens and school kitchens.

He's coordinating with relief efforts on the ground such as the Red Cross and setting up large food stations set to feed 10,000 to 20,000 and more meals daily around the island. He's busting out paella, kicking butt and taking names, and expanding his efforts daily to feed more. He's making deliveries to nursing homes and others who ca not make the trek to the tents to be fed. I only hope that someone in disaster relief efforts is paying attention to learn a thing or two.
